Diabetes seminar is Saturday at Adult Center

In order to keep pace with the growing number of Americans with diabetes, the Yavapai County Area of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) invites community members to attend the 27th annual Diabetes Seminar - "Your Lucky Diabetes Day."

The seminar is from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 13, at the Adult Center of Prescott in the Rowle P. Simmons Community Center, 1280 E. Rosser St., Suite B, in Prescott. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the program, which features speaker and exhibits, begins at 8:30 am. The registration fee is $12 pre-event and $15 at the door. The fee includes the program and lunch Speakers for this year's Seminar include Danielle M. Gilliam, PharmD giving the keynote address "Conventional Diabetes Control", Nicole Turcotte, MS, PhD, addressing "Complementary Care: Naturopathic Approach to Diabetes Management", Marilyn Bailey, RN, RD, CDE, addressing "Pumps and Meters: So Many Choices", Andy Nelson, DC will present "Move Well, Live Well", and Anne Dennis, Senior Manager, Programs for the American Diabetes Association presenting on "Safe at School" and "Take Action: ADA Advocacy."

Participants will have the opportunity to visit a number of information and education exhibits and displays, and enjoy a lunch, provided by Albertsons. To register or receive more information, call 888-DIABETES, ext. 7085, or e-mail Jim Robak at jrobak@diabetes.org.
