The Hasid Center Jewish Congregation, 1300 N. Stoneridge Drive, Prescott Valley, will have a Torah class at noon on Sunday, Nov. 25, with Chabad Rabbi Levertov. For information, call 642-3659.

The Center for Spiritual Living, across from Embry-Riddle in Prescott, presents "The Way," a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. Martin Sheen stars in this movie. His son Emilio Estevez is the director. Discover the difference between the life we live and the life we choose. The movie runs for 121 minutes. The Salvation Army sponsors the Christmas Angel Tree at Gateway Mall during mall hours from Nov. 23 through Dec. 20. Angel tags for each child (infant through 12 years old) will list their age and sizes for clothing as well as their wish for a special toy. Anyone in the community may participate in The Salvation Army's mission of "Doing the Most Good" by picking out one or more tags to shop for an individual child. In addition to the Angel Tree, there is a Teen Tree at the mall. Pick a tag and purchase a $35 gift card to be given to a needy teenager. Volunteers are needed to sponsor entire families with gifts and food for the holidays. The Salvation Army distributes your gifts to the family the week before Christmas. This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals as well as groups and organizations. You get to pick the size of the family you would like to sponsor. Last year 601 families signed up for the Christmas Angel Tree program, which included 1,599 children and teens receiving gifts. St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 2062 N. Highway 89 in Chino Valley, is having its annual Arts and Crafts show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, and Saturday. Local artists will be selling their wares. There will be homemade baked goods and lunch fare, raffles galore, including donated artwork and items from local businesses.

Trinity Lutheran Women's Missionary League is sponsoring its annual Holiday Craft Show and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event will take place in Trinity Hall in the God's World building, 3950 N. Valorie Drive in Prescott Valley. Shop for "Made in the U.S.A." crafts and homemade baked items. Prescott Valley United Methodist Church will host a free presentation by Barbara Kult on "Choosing the Right Senior Facility in Which to Live" from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Fellowship Hall, 8944 E. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are hosting a two-day Christmas bazaar, bake sale, quilt raffle and silent auction, on Friday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale will take place in the Church Fellowship Hall, at 1202 Green Lane, off Willow Creek Road in Prescott. There will be many handcrafted items, homemade candies, cookies, cakes, bread and pies. Proceeds from the sale will benefit several local charities in the greater Prescott area and mission projects.

Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents who have lost a child at any age or however long ago, meets the second Tuesday of each month at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St. Pastor Carol Mumford leads the group, and any community member who has lost a child may attend. This is just one of the support groups that meets each month at PUMC. Other groups offer support for those with health issues such as breathing problems, cancer, depression and fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue.
