11/8/2012 9:57:00 PM Group helps those who have lost a loved one to suicide
Nov. 17 is International Survivors of Suicide Day. This annual event takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to honor and remember those who have lost loved ones to suicide. Every 13.5 minutes, someone dies by suicide in the United States. Every 13.6 minutes, someone is left behind to try to make sense of it.
At the 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, service at Prescott Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Sherri Frances, Tri-City SOS support group facilitator here in Prescott, will speak on after-care for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
Frances established this local support group in October 2005. She is associated with AFSP, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and SAVE, Suicide Awareness Voices of Education.
